TuscanTech, innovative start-up incubated at the Navacchio Techno Park has been selected by the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) Raw Materials

TuscanTech, innovative start-up incubated at the Navacchio Techno Park (Pisa), after winning the StartCup Toscana and the prestigious European SME-Instrument Phase 1 grant, has been selected by the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) Raw Materials as one of the most promising European start-ups in the critical materials sector. The technology proposed by the company is able to solve the worldwide problem of the use of Lithium and Cobalt in rechargeable batteries and replace these critical materials with Zinc and Manganese, widely available and with a significantly lower environmental impact. In order to support TuscanTech in the last stages of the technology development, the EIT will finance € 50,000 in technical activities related to the construction of 20 battery prototypes, both in cylindrical and prismatic format, and market analysis and commercial activities, which will develop with the collaboration of the consulting firm New Ideas 4.0.
